We peeped our head out from the hole we've been working in the last few months to discover it's spring! Hi there! It's been a whirlwind around here. So much so that we've hired a new team member to help us (Shauna) keep organized. More on that later. So, Mother's Day is soon upon us, and we all know she deserves way more than a Day to be recognized. So, in addition to these great gift ideas we've rounded up; bubbles, brunch, a trip to the museum, or an afternoon at the pool are all perfect ways to celebrate Mom and everything she does for everyone else. Entertaining MomFor the mom who loves to entertain, the Famille Rose collection from Williams Sonoma gives us all the vintagy, flowery vibes of grandma's best china. In fact, we'd encourage mixing it up with your own vintage china and glassware to create a beautiful one-of-a-kind table. Bright stemware is our jam. And we love that this set from Anthropologie comes already assorted in happy colors. They completely go with our mix and match table setting aesthetic. Charcuterie for dinner is a regular occurrence in our house. However, most of the time it's grazing over open containers on the kitchen counter. This Lotus shaped board from Uncommon Goods gives us a great excuse to create something a bit more presentable. Gardening MomThose ugly gardening gloves mom has from the hardware store are probably due for an upgrade. These super cute ones are from Uncommon Goods and have faux leather palms and extra long cuffs to protect from all the prickly things. Matching hat, because, of course and it's all machine washable! Raise your hand if you use an old plastic pitcher to water the plants? These glass watering cans from Anthropologie are pretty enough to sit out on the ledge in the kitchen and while gently reminding you to water the plants. For moms that are just starting out on their gardening adventure, a window sill herb starter kit is just the right thing for her to practice her skills. Complete with plant markers so you don't mistake the mint for cilantro. Stressed Out MomTo be honest, we ALL fit in to this category, right? So, remember that Mom loves you, but she also would enjoy 20 minutes of uninterrupted time in the bathtub for Pete's sake. A shiny brass bath caddy gives mom easy access to all of her bath essentials. Pretty sure we could live here, just leave some cheese and wine outside the door every day or so. Never underestimate the value of beautiful packaging. The yummy bubble bath here is one thing, but the gorgeous floral bottle gives an extra "ooohh" that we are totally here for. Every season, Capri Blue gives us our favorite candle scents in to die for glass jars and this season is no exception. We are partial to the Volcano flavor but at only $26 for the petite jar, you can give all the scents a try.
Now, get shopping, and remember that we may earn some $$ from these links. Also, check out our Gift Guide for more great things for mom. Oh, and back to our announcement earlier. We are super excited to introduce you to Hannah, our newest team member. Her title is Design Assistant, which means everything from "pick out a lamp to go here", to "go meet the tile guy" to "here, hang some art". She is amazing and we are so happy to have her on the team. Happy Mother's Day!

We know that the mad rush to buy gifts online is already well underway. BUT we also know how there are always procrastinators in our lives and they have just realized it's December and they better get busy. Knowing that shipping delays are for real, you'll want to share this post ASAP with those people who need some gift giving guidance. As per usual, we hit up Anthropologie because they speak our language and have some of the most luxurious, festive gifts around.
1.Ombre Cashmere Throw--Because A. look at those colors and B. it's cashmere. I mean, who wouldn't want to snuggle up on the sofa with that?
2. Bianca Glass Set--We are suckers for vintage glassware and these are just begging for a cocktail hour G&T. 3. Sherpa Lined Robe--Designed by Alexandra Farmer the sherpa lining gives this floral robe an extra cozy layer. 5.Brass Animal Planters--Ezzie and Gia, as they are known are determined to help you become a plant person. 6. Cheese Plate Cookbook--Take your charcuterie to the next level with fun recipes for both entertaining and just for you! 7. Capri Blue Petite Jar Candle--Featuring their holiday "All A Glow" container, our favorite Volcano scent is THE perfect gift for anyone on your list. 8. Alani Cashmere Mock Neck Sweater--Once again, you can never go wrong with cashmere as a gift and we love the floral print for a nice change from solid sweaters. 9. Beaded Monogram Pouch--Airpods, chargers, cords, face masks; these days we have plenty to carry around so why not do it in something as cute as this? 10. Upcycled Kantha Stitched Throw--Upcycling at it's most fashionable, these throws feature Anthro exclusive fabrics with kantha stitching. Hand-crafted so no two are alike. Right now, you can save 30% on select gifts for a limited time. And while we are big Anthro fans, we also have a huge place in our heart for all of the small, independent businesses out there who make and create beautiful things. So, be sure to check out our Instagram page starting December 9th for 12 Days of Giveaways where we will be giving away gifts from some of our most favorite creative people. Also be sure to check out our Gift Guide for more great ideas! This post contains affiliate links and we may be compensated for purchases made via these links. Last month, we issued a call for all of your favorite gifts for mom for Mother's Day, and I have to say, it was one of our most popular posts. Such great products from both well-known retailers and small, independent businesses (who we know can take all the business we can throw their way!) So, to be fair to Dad, we asked again for your favorite gifts for that special man in your life. And while the overwhelming answer was "he just wants to take a nap", we did get some great gift ideas that can be COMBINED with time for a nap to make his day even that more special. STYLIN DAD--he can always use a little helping hand when it comes to the wardrobe. Colorful summer shirts from Bonobos and the Anson Belt Gift Box with an assortment of adjustable belts and buckles keep him presentable on date night. Workouts are also way more chic with the Pace Short from Lululemon. SELF CARE DAD--They all love the gadgets, and the Theragun Therapy Gun checks all the boxes. And help him keep his side of the bathroom tidy with a stylish Dopp kit from Jon Hart. CHEF DAD--Specializing in all things cooked outdoors, the Ooni pizza oven will be the star of the next neighborhood cookout. Grill Trays from Williams Sonoma make it easy to safely prep and cook that big ol' steak. HARD TO SHOP FOR DAD--He likes the eccentric, different, special stuff that he would never spend the money on himself. Coles Woodworks is a local artist who makes trays, shelves, coasters and probably anything else you can dream up. For hanging in the pool, spend the money on these virtually indestructible Pool Floats from Frontgate that will last well beyond this season (model not included). And for scooting down to the wine store, the micro-scooter from Sidewalker USA will seriously make all the guys in the neighborhood jealous. We have learned over the years that if you want something very specific and amazing for your birthday or Mother's Day, you might just be better off getting yourself. Sometimes the things on the wish list get lost in translation, or in the Inbox, or it's magically the day before and holy crap they forgot and so here's an Amazon gift card. So, in the spirit of giving to others the things that we love, we reached out to y'all, our amazing circle of followers for your most favorite things to get and give. Earlier in the week we posted on Instagram about Cyber Monday and all the deals out there, and then promptly realized that Cyber Monday is a cruel joke because we have been shopping online incessantly since March. Nevertheless, gift giving time is quickly approaching, and if you are struggling to find the perfect gift for that special someone, we're here for you. We've put together some great picks for gifts for her, gifts for him and gifts for kids; the kind of stuff you can't WAIT to give because it is so dang cool and you know that they are just going to LOVE it. Anthropologie has a long history of collaborating with both up and coming designers and those who have succeeded in establishing their brand in the mainstream. Their latest partnership brings a California meets vacations in France vibe to products from clothing to accessories and home decor. Clare Vivier, a top designer of luxury leather goods, started her brand in 2006 after a failed search for the perfect leather tote. Today, the Simple Tote is available in countless colors and materials, and features the signature contrast stripe that reminds us of the French flag. We will get more in to our obsession with Clare V. bags in a minute, but exploring this collaboration and the venture in to home goods is just the kind of unfussy, whimsical joy that our homes and our lives need right now. Leave it to the French to remind us not to take life and decor too seriously. And because we all love a great bag, check out our favorites from Clare V. The last of our holiday gift guide is all about the kids. We've found some really cool, unique gifts that go beyond baby Yoda and whatever else is hot this year. Some of them may even be *gasp* educational. But don't tell the kids. That's a sure way to get something quickly stashed in the back of a closet somewhere. If you are still hunting for gifts for the adults in the fam, check out our Gifts for Him and Gifts for Her posts, or find EVERYTHING gift related in our Gift Guide.

Poor guys. It's always a sweater. Or another pair of socks. I read in a book recently a letter the male author wrote to his wife about what guys really want and the answer could be summed up to be "anything that has an on/off switch or needs batteries". His wife replied that their vacuum cleaner had been acting up and well, that fit his description to a T! NO! We are not advocating getting the man in your life a vacuum cleaner. Although those Roombas are pretty bad ass. But we DO have some pretty sweet sweaters and socks mixed in with gadgety and techy and one-of-a-kind finds for your special guy. Check out more of our gifts for him in our Shop page, and click here if you missed our Gifts for Her post.

In a former life I wrote a fashion style blog and put out a Gift Guide every Christmas. My husband quickly figured out that that gift guide was his ticket to winning at gift-giving. I mean, how lucky for him that I gave him such a vast list of great items complete with links to purchase directly? He also realized that this treasured guide was ALSO the winning ticket for all of his male co-workers who no doubt struggle every year with what to buy for the women in their lives, and sent out the link to all of them explaining that their gifting dilemmas had been solved.
Fast forward through several job changes and alas, the Gift Guide blogs went by the wayside. And every year about this time, my husband would lament over its loss and was once again left stranded on the gift idea island. Imagine his joy when I joined the SGD team last year and started writing blog posts again. In fact, he asked me just over the Thanksgiving holiday when my Gift Guide was going up as he was ready to get shopping. Well, my dear. Wait no longer. In fact, you not only have the items in this post to peruse, but so many more in the Shop section of our website. For the guys who were blindly led here by a concerned friend, welcome. And trust us, here you can find everything you are looking for for that special woman in your life. XO Kalen

Good ol' Dad. Mower of lawn. Griller of burger. Wearer of cargo shorts. (Must to our dismay). Dad, who's needs are usually simple and is truly happy in those cargo shorts from 1993, he deserves better. We've recruited our token male in the office to help with picking the best gifts for Dad this Father's Day. No, Mike is not a dad. But we think he has pretty good taste after hanging out with Shauna and the crew for so long. His go-to store for cool stuff for dad? West Elm. Modern and moderately priced, it fits any budget and he'll be proud to show it off at the next guys night. Metallic Base Decanter + Glassware Set Any man can have a bar. In fact, most men do. However, most men do not have a distinguished bar. This classic decanter and glassware set just screams CLASSY! Deco Barware Collection - Nickel + Marble Have you ever heard someone brag about their bar tools? Neither have I. Until now. Check out this deco barware set. He’ll love it! Guaranteed! Vintage Style Cooler Forget the generic Igloo. Keep drinks chilled in style with these vintage looking stainless steel coolers. Gentleman's Hardware BBQ Tool Set Remember the Swiss Army knife? A bunch of tools all wrapped up in one tool. You have to see this concept applied to BBQ accessories. Pretty much the greatest Father’s Day present ever. Deco Stacking Game Who doesn’t love Jenga? Throw in some alcoholic beverages to the mix and now you have a party. This upscale acrylic version of this classic game will absolutely entertain your discerning guests for hours. Sonos PLAY 1: Wireless Speaker Compact in size (only 6.5" high!) but big on sound this wireless speaker brings the party where ever you are. Matte Black Flatware Set Selfishly, I had to add this. The first time I saw this in the store, I wanted it. And it wasn’t even Father’s Day. This matte black flatware is definitely masculine while still emoting a strong sense of class. Give this set this year and it will be warmly received. Even better, you likely won’t find this at any of your friends’ homes.
