About Shauna
Hi there.
This is where I tell you about myself and how I came to this place--the place where I have my own design website. You see, I'm not a licensed or trade recognized interior designer. I'm a writer who just happens to be passionate about interior design. And food. But that's another website I'm creating titled "All The Food I Want To Eat Before I Die," followed closely by my last website titled "If Only I'd Lost Those Last Ten Pounds And Not Eaten So Much Bacon."

Seriously, let me be serious for a minute. I love anything and everything home. My style is contemporary meets your grandma's attic--if your grandma's attic if filled with mid-century treasures from far off places. So many different genres are represented in my home: traditional, bohemian, modern, rustic, and mid-century. It's like a smorgasbord, really. But it totally works! Who says you have to stick with one theme throughout?
Let's be bold! Let's be brave! Let's make sangria and eat cake!
I don't know the rules of home design. I haven't downloaded any How-To books or read Interior Design For Dummies. I just play with color and pattern and different textures and see how it makes the space feel. That's it. That's my secret.
I hope you enjoy what I've created here. It's a joyride I hope never ends.

Meet the Team
Riley Burner
Riley was born and raised in Fort Worth, and graduated from TCU in 2017 with a degree in Strategic Communication. After a short stint in the digital advertising world, she joined SGD in November 2017 and works closely with Shauna as a lead designer. In her spare time she enjoys chasing after her two kids, Hayes and Poppy, movie nights with her husband and patio happy hours with friends. |
Kalen Ruiz
Kalen joined the SGD team in June 2018 after returning back to Fort Worth from two years in California. She brings her career experience working in the home furnishings and fashion industries to SGD in managing operations, marketing, and media partnerships. She spends her spare time traveling with her family, supporting the Horned Frogs, and on the porch with a glass of wine and a book. |
Hannah Brown
Hannah is a designer on the SGD team and joined us in March 2022. Hannah enjoys anything that has to do with art, design, and animals. She is a creative at heart, and has a passion for helping people. When she is not painting, she is scouting the best thrift shops and antique malls in DFW. 
Raylee Garwacki
Raylee is born and raised in Fort Worth. She is a design intern on the SGD team and joined us in October 2024. Raylee is currently studying Visual Arts with an expected graduation date of May 2025. In her spare time she enjoys local coffee shops and traveling. |
Rich Darr
Rich is the resident handyman on the SGD team and joined us in September of 2022. He finds immense joy in assembling furniture, hanging hardware and keeping us supplied with an abundance of dad jokes. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family, cycling, painting, and anything to do with Severance. 
Amy Martin
Amy joined the SGD team in January 2025. She has a deep love for travel, art and the thrill of antiquing; always seeking out unique and beautiful treasures. So, she fits right in. In her spare time, she loves shopping and most importantly, spending quality time with her three daughters and her grandson. |
