We all love Before and Afters, right? My favorite part of the HGTV shows is not the process by which they get to the end result but the final reveal. First 5 minutes and last 5 minutes are all I need to see. One of the recent projects we have been working on has a pretty amazing Before and After. It's a typical ranch home in the Tanglewood area in Fort Worth. Likely built in the 70s when wood paneling was a premium feature. The paneling in the family room here had already been painted so we just brightened it up and updated the furniture. Don't you just adore that rug from Anthropologie? I think it's one of our most favorite yet.

As much as we love natural accents, by painting the built-in shelving in the living room the same color as the wall it just opens up the space and makes it so much brighter. I bet you didn't even notice the piano in the "before" image? The styled bookshelves are 100% from books and decorative pieces that the homeowner already had. Trust me, you'll be amazed at what you already own that you can style with. Be sure to check out Shauna's bookshelf styling tips video below.
