Rustic Italian Chili

We all know how annoying it is to find a recipe online and have to scroll to Egypt till you finally get to the recipe at the bottom of the post. I'm not gonna do that to you. I will say, I'm a fan of Le Creuset dutch ovens, especially for this recipe. It keeps the heat contained so well, plus they are just so pretty. Happy cooking!
Picture
Rustic Italian Chili
What you need:
Olive oil
1 pound ground beef/lamb/turkey/mushrooms (whatever you like for this! - I switch between turkey and beef)
1 shallot or 1⁄2 red onion, diced
1-2 carrots, cleaned and diced
2 garlic cloves, diced
1 tsp red pepper flakes
1 TBSP Italian seasoning
1 15 ounce can tomato sauce
1 can cannellini or great northern beans, drained and rinsed
1 can red kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 cup ditalini pasta or macaroni pasta
6 cups beef broth (vegetable broth or water work too)
Parmesan cheese rind, optional
To make:
Drizzle olive oil in a dutch oven, turn on heat, add diced onion, carrots, and red pepper flakes. Stir for 2-3 minutes, then add garlic, Italian seasoning and ground beef (or whatever). Cook, stirring often, until meat is cooked through. Dump in the tomato sauce, beans and part of the broth. Start with 3-4 cups broth, saving the rest for later. Give it a good stir. Add the pasta and bring to a boil. If you have a parmesan rind, add it now. After 6-7 minutes, turn the heat to low, adding more broth as needed. Let simmer on low heat for 20 minutes. It’s so good eaten alone, with Saltine crackers (my fave!), or crusty bread. It’s even better THE NEXT DAY.
Enjoy!

Fall 2024 Color Trends

9/17/2024

The funny thing about color trends is that once you tune your eye to them, they are everywhere. We've been brainstorming lately about social media, content, how to share our ideas, products and tips, and in general the whole "influencer" role. Color trends are a big deal especially in fashion, and usually those trends are predicted several years in advance based on what is shown at fashion shows in Milan, Paris and New York. The home color trends tend to lag behind fashion by a few years and also tend to stick around longer. Mostly because no one can afford to redo their home in the latest trend every few years. But interestingly, as we started to put together this post, we noticed that the same color trends are really pervasive in all areas; fashion, beauty and home. This has been really fun for our team to put together so I hope you learn something and find a few "trendy" pieces to add to your life this fall.  Find more picks on our Shop page.

Our color palette comes from Pantone, the industry leader in color trends. There are several palettes they have put together for Fall 2024, but this one spoke to us the most. Let's dig in, shall we?

Pale Pansy

A mauvey-lilac color that at first glance does not live in a Fall palette, but pair with Super Lemon and Phlox and a deep chocolate brown and we've got a serious color story happening.

Myristica

This is the brown for people who don't love brown. It's like the chocolate milk we had as a kid, and just as luscious.
Pantone Myristica by Riley Burner

Phlox

Plums have had a hard time making an entry in to the home decor world but this gorgeous shade is just the accent we need for fall.
Pantone Phlox by Riley Burner

Super Lemon

She's not quite mustard so still vibrant enough to hold her own against these other saturated hues.

Peach Fuzz

Peach Fuzz holds the honor of being named the Pantone Color of the Year for 2024. According to Pantone, Peach Fuzz "captures our desire to nurture ourselves and others. It's a velvety gentle peach tone whose all-embracing spirit enriches mind, body and soul."

Sun-Dried Tomato

So, reds can be SO HARD to work with. Coral? great. Pinks? love them all. Red tends to be too loud, but THIS one. It's rich and deep and we can't get enough.

Jade Green

Another color that speaks more spring than fall, but we love the lightness of this in contrast to the bold palette. It's like a breath of fresh air in the forest.

Porcelain

A core color as far as we are concerned, and plays well with everyone in the palette. I mean, this plus Sun-Dried Tomato? A match made in heaven.

Transforming Kitchens with ILVE: A Modern Classic with the Nostalgie 36-Inch Range
When it comes to kitchen renovations, the choice of appliances can make or break the design.
For our latest project, we had the pleasure of collaborating with ILVE, an esteemed name in
premium kitchen appliances, to bring a touch of classic elegance and modern functionality to a
kitchen transformation. The centerpiece of our renovation? The ILVE Nostalgie 36-Inch
Duel-Fuel Range
with an electric oven—a true fusion of timeless style and cutting-edge
technology. Plus, she’s gorgeous.

A Classic Look with Modern Performance
The ILVE Nostalgie 36-Inch Dual-Fuel Range is more than just an appliance; it's a statement
piece that bridges the gap between vintage charm and contemporary efficiency. With its
stunning design reminiscent of old-world craftsmanship, it effortlessly complements a range of
kitchen aesthetics, from rustic farmhouse to sophisticated modern. Our latest renovation leans
more transitional, so the range was an easy decision. Seriously, how can I get one in my house?

Design and Aesthetics
At first glance, the Nostalgie range exudes a sense of nostalgia with its elegant lines and classic
brass accents. The detailed craftsmanship is evident in every curve and knob, making it a
standout feature in any kitchen. The customizable front panels and knobs allow homeowners to
tailor the look to their unique style preferences, whether they lean towards a more traditional or a slightly modernized feel. She’s sleek, sexy, and ready for anything. Please leave by 9pm.

Functionality Meets Flexibility
The duel-fuel configuration of the ILVE Nostalgie range combines the best of both worlds. The
gas burners offer precise control for cooking at high temperatures and achieving perfect sears,
while the electric oven ensures consistent and even baking results. With five powerful gas
burners, including a dual-flame burner for those demanding dishes, and a spacious electric
oven with a range of cooking modes, the Nostalgie range is designed to handle everything from
a weeknight dinner to a festive feast. And toddlers won’t know what hit them. They will magically eat whatever you make in your fancy oven.

Innovative Features
One of the standout features of this range is its advanced oven technology. The electric oven is
equipped with multiple cooking modes, including convection and broil, allowing for a variety of
cooking techniques to suit different recipes and preferences. The oven’s self-cleaning function is another highlight, making post-cooking cleanup a breeze and ensuring the range remains as
pristine as the day it was installed.

The Perfect Blend of Style and Substance
The collaboration with ILVE has resulted in a kitchen renovation that not only meets the needs of modern cooking but also adds an element of timeless beauty. The Nostalgie 36-Inch Duel-Fuel Range is a testament to ILVE’s commitment to combining classic design with advanced technology. It’s not just about cooking; it’s about creating an experience that is both enjoyable and visually striking. To me, that spells home.
For those considering a kitchen upgrade, the ILVE Nostalgie range is a worthy investment. It
offers not just superior performance and durability, but also an opportunity to elevate the
kitchen’s style quotient. Whether you’re a culinary enthusiast or simply appreciate high-quality craftsmanship, this range will undoubtedly become the centerpiece of your kitchen for years to come. And your kids will love it too!
